Last May, the Lord gave me a word — and I need to remind us of it today:
“I am raising a Cyrus Generation.”
Who are they?
Men and women who know this truth: Everything they have is a gift from God.
He didn’t give it to them for comfort or status. He gave it to advance His mission on earth. — Ezra 1:2
The Promise
This Cyrus Generation will walk in the same promise God gave Cyrus in Isaiah 45:1-3:
“I will go before you… I will break down gates of bronze… I will give you hidden treasures…”
We saw that promise fulfilled the night Cyrus took Babylon. Daniel 5 shows us what happened:
Belshazzar took the holy vessels dedicated to God and used them to toast his friends and idols. That night, the kingdom fell.
To understand the Cyrus call, remember the Nebuchadnezzar generation.
They were God’s servants — Jeremiah 25:9 calls Nebuchadnezzar “My servant.”
But they forgot their Source. Instead of giving God glory, Nebuchadnezzar said, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built by my mighty power?” — Daniel 4:30
Their downfall came when what belonged to God was used for self. Daniel 5 — The holy became common. Judgment fell that same night.
Look at our own history.
Many kingdoms in Uganda were founded by the Bachwezi — remembered as “demi-gods.” History tells us they vanished. They disappeared.
I believe the “demi-gods” of our generation are vanishing too.
They will be completely defeated by a people who declare: “It is the God of heaven who gave me authority over all I have — and He gave it to me to advance His mission on earth.”
So, here’s the question:
Are you part of the Nebuchadnezzar generation — building for your own name, soon to be defeated?
Or will you answer the call to be a Cyrus of your generation — a steward, not an owner?
The choice is ours.
Cyrus or Nebuchadnezzar. Which one are you?
