Uganda Shines at 4th African Youth Games with Five-Medal Haul

Uganda wrapped up its campaign at the 4th African Youth Games in Luanda with an impressive tally of five medals, including two silver and three bronze, highlighting the nation’s growing talent across multiple disciplines.

In athletics, Baskaline Cherotwo powered to a silver medal in the 1500m, demonstrating remarkable stamina and strategy against a competitive field.

Meanwhile, Keren Chelimo claimed bronze in the women’s 3000m, adding to Uganda’s track success.

On the dance floor, history was made as George Ntulume earned silver in breakdance, marking Uganda’s first ever medal in the sport at the African Youth Games and signaling the country’s rising profile in emerging disciplines.

Table tennis proved another stronghold for Team Uganda. Joseph Sebatindira and Jemimah Nakawala both secured bronze in the singles events, before teaming up to capture another bronze in the team competition, underlining their versatility and resilience.

With a total of five medals, Uganda leaves Angola proud, setting the stage for even greater achievements at future continental competitions.
