The stage is set for an electrifying battle among Kampala’s top secondary schools as the Kampala Region Boys Football Qualifiers kick off from Thursday, April 9 to Tuesday, April 14, 2026. With pride, bragging rights, and qualification spots on the line, the tournament promises intense action across multiple venues in the city.
A total of 15 schools have been drawn into three competitive groups. Group A features Uganda Martyrs Rubaga, Kololo S.S, Caltec Academy, Buziga Theological Institute, and Bishop Kihangire S.S. Group B brings together Kawempe Muslim S.S, Kakungulu Memorial School, Luzira S.S, Kololo High School, and Mengo S.S, while Group C includes Kibuli S.S, Kazo Hill College, Lubiri S.S, City High School, and Kyambogo College.
The opening day, Thursday, April 9, will see Uganda Martyrs Rubaga take on Buziga Theological Institute at their home ground, while Kololo S.S faces Caltec Academy at Lubiri S.S. Kawempe Muslim S.S will clash with Kololo High School, as Kakungulu Memorial School battles Luzira S.S. In Group C, Kibuli S.S meets City High School, with Kazo Hill College facing Lubiri S.S in what promises to be a thrilling start.
The group stage will continue on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11, with teams playing in a round-robin format. Key fixtures to watch include Kawempe Muslim S.S against Kakungulu Memorial School, Kibuli S.S versus Kazo Hill College, and Uganda Martyrs Rubaga locking horns with Kololo S.S.
Matches will be hosted at various venues including Uganda Martyrs Rubaga, Kibuli S.S, Lubiri S.S, Buziga Ground, Ham Stadium Nakivubo, and Mengo S.S grounds, ensuring widespread access for fans across Kampala.
The tournament will then progress to the knockout stage on Saturday, April 11, with quarterfinal clashes determining the semifinalists. The semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, April 14 at Ham Stadium Nakivubo, where the finalists will also be decided.
The competition will climax later that day with the third-place playoff at 12:00 pm, followed by the grand finale at 2:00 pm, both at Ham Stadium Nakivubo.
Organizers have also confirmed that girls’ football and basketball (boys and girls) events will take place on Monday, April 13 at Ham Stadium. Fans will be required to pay an entry fee of UGX 3,000 to watch the games.
