USSSA Qualifiers: Day Four Delivers Drama as Kawempe Division Title Race Heads for Grand Finale

The race for supremacy in the Kawempe Division of the USSSA Kampala Region qualifiers intensified on day four, with thrilling encounters played at Highland SS playground leaving the title fight wide open.

Kazo Hill College underlined their championship credentials with a commanding 4-0 victory over Oxford High School, showcasing attacking dominance and defensive solidity. However, they were later held to a 2-2 draw by Makerere College, a result that ensured the title race remains unresolved heading into the final day.

Caltec Academy edged Gadafi Integrated Academy 1-0 in a tightly contested fixture, while Universal High School registered an emphatic 4-1 win over Makerere College to keep their campaign competitive. Gadafi bounced back later in the day with a narrow 1-0 victory over Universal High School.

Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, another strong contender for the division crown, secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against hosts Highland SS, keeping pace with Kazo Hill College at the top of the standings.

With three qualification slots up for grabs, several teams remain in contention, but the spotlight firmly shifts to the battle for the division title. Kazo Hill College and Kawempe Muslim SS have emerged as the frontrunners, setting up a decisive showdown between the two sides.

The much-anticipated clash, scheduled for Friday at Kawempe Muslim SS playground, will serve as the climax of the division campaign, with the winner expected to be crowned champions.
