The Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) has handed a five-year suspension to Walujo Edrine, effective August 19, 2024!
This, follows allegations of betting and game fixing during the FIBA 3X3 Nations League on August 6, 2024.
Walujjo is said to have approached Benin National team at Lugogo to throw away a game during the concluded tournament.
He was arrested and detained at Jinja Road Police station, with charges preferred against him at Jinja Road Police.
The FUBA EXCOM referred the matter to the Competition Council, which conducted a disciplinary hearing with evidence presented, including testimony from the athlete and the National Team Delegation of Benin.
The Disciplinary Committee recommended a five-year suspension, banning the Oilers player from participating in any FUBA-sanctioned events as an athlete, fan, or administrator with any affiliated clubs.
