Power overcame a 15-point deficit to defeat Ndejje University Angels 72-69 in a dramatic National Basketball League (NBL) encounter on Sunday at Lugogo.

The game, marked by intense competition and a nail-biting finish, saw Power execute a remarkable fourth-quarter rally to secure the win.

Ndejje, leading 43-32 at halftime and extending their advantage to 12 points by the end of the third quarter, appeared poised for victory.

However, Power’s resilience shone through as they unleashed a 16-point run in the final quarter, capitalizing on Ndejje’s faltering momentum.

Haron Arinaitwe led all scorers with 20 points for Ndejje, supported by James Osinde with 14 points and Bolton Rujumba with 12. Cikom Monybai contributed significantly with a double-double, recording 11 points and 18 rebounds. Despite these efforts, Ndejje struggled to maintain their pace and offensive rhythm in the fourth quarter.

Power’s Clinton Omondi was instrumental in the comeback, achieving a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Elvis Sentongo also played a crucial role, adding 18 points to Power’s tally. Their combined efforts propelled Power to their sixth win in 20 games, bolstering their hopes of avoiding relegation with two crucial fixtures remaining against Our Saviour and Livingstone.

For Ndejje, the defeat marked their 16th loss in 19 games, pushing them closer to relegation. Their remaining schedule against the UCU Canons, KCCA Panthers, and City Oilers presents a daunting challenge, and even victories in all three games may not be enough to secure their place in the league for next season.
