In a flurry of recent updates, 21 Savage has been making waves in the news. The rapper confirmed the imminent release of a biopic titled “American Dream: The 21 Savage Story.” Adding to the anticipation, he revealed the involvement of Donald Glover and Stranger Things alumnus Chase McLaughlin in the project. Shortly after the announcement, a trailer for the biopic was shared, offering significant revelations.

The trailer showcased actors and 21 Savage himself portraying various stages of the rapper’s life. It touched on pivotal moments such as the origin of his iconic rap name and the notorious 2019 ICE arrest. Musical elements were also highlighted, with the trailer serving as a quasi-music video, featuring Savage rapping a new song from an interrogation room. The extent of the film’s musical focus remains to be seen.

However, a major surprise for fans came with the trailer’s description, which included a link to pre-save an entirely new album inspired by the film. According to NFR Podcast, the album, titled “American Dream,” is slated for release on January 12, potentially aligning with the film’s release, although the details remain unclear.

21 Savage’s last solo studio album, “i am > i was,” was released in 2018. In the interim, he collaborated with Metro Boomin in 2020 for the sequel to their 2016 album, “Savage Mode,” and joined forces with Drake in 2022 for the collaborative project “Her Loss.” How do you feel about 21 Savage’s upcoming biopic and the surprise album dropping later this week?
