“You cannot bribe the grave. You cannot bribe eternity. But you can receive the One who conquered both.”
“Choose wisely. You don’t know your years, but you know your choices.”
“You can bribe a man, but you cannot bribe the Cross.”
“The name of Jesus: It clears debts you cannot pay and opens doors you cannot enter.”
As Deputy RDC, I investigate corruption every day. I have seen men sell roads. I have seen officers sell signatures. I have seen parents sell the future of children for 50,000 shillings. I have seen officers steal PDM money.
But today I declare to you the Greatest Corruption in the land and in the whole world:
The greatest corruption is to reject the One who paid your debt.
Colossians 2:14 says Jesus “cancelled the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”
Think of it:
When you take a bribe, you steal from the government. That is corruption.
When you reject Jesus, you steal from the Cross. You tell the King of Glory, “Your blood is not enough for me.” That is the highest theft.
You can return stolen PDM money. You can refund the ghost salary. But how will you refund the blood of Jesus if you reject it? Hebrews 10:29 “How much more severe punishment do you think someone deserves who has trampled the Son of God underfoot?”
THE ETERNAL WARNING: CHOOSE WISELY
I don’t know how old you are, how many years you still have to live on this earth, and the suffering you are going through, but consider the fact that in heaven or hell you will live there forever and ever. Therefore, choose wisely.
Let me speak to you as an RDC who monitors Government programs and chairs district security and represents the President of the republic of Uganda and as a preacher who buries the dead.
I Don’t Know Your Age, But I Know Your Appointment
You may be 22 and strong. You may be 82 and weak. James 4:14 “You do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”
In my office, I have seen young boda riders die at 17years. I have seen CAOs die at 54. Psalm 90:10 “Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures.” But no one is guaranteed 5 more minutes.
Leadership Lesson: You plan for retirement at 60. But God may retire you tonight. Luke 12:20 “This very night your life will be demanded from you.” The greatest corruption is to prepare for pension but not for judgment.
I Don’t Know Your Years Left, But I Know Eternity Has No End
You may live 10 more years. You may live 50 more years. But Matthew 25:46 says: “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
Eternal means no transfer. No contract renewal. No “second term.”
If you spend 80 years on earth and 80 billion years in hell, which one deserved your attention? Mark 8:36 “What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”
Leadership Lesson: We audit 5-year plans in Kanungu. But God audits forever. You can win the district and lose your soul. That is the worst audit report.
I Don’t Know Your Suffering, But I Know It Is Temporary
Some of you are in pain. Sickness. False accusations. Your children are rebellious. You refused a bribe and now you are hated. I know.
But 2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
The bribe you refused caused suffering for 6 months. Rejecting Jesus causes suffering forever. Revelation 14:11 “The smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever.”
Leadership Lesson: We endure temporary suffering to keep a clean name. How much more should we endure to keep a clean soul? Romans 8:18 “Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed.”
Therefore, Choose Wisely – Because You Only Choose Once
Deuteronomy 30:19 “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life.”
You choose leaders every 5 years. You choose eternity once.
You cannot say at judgment, “IGG, please give me a second chance.” Hebrews 9:27 “It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.”
The man who dies rejecting Jesus has committed the greatest corruption. He stole salvation and refused to pay. The payment was already made on the Cross. To reject it is to become the thief on the cross who refused to repent.
Dr. Rugaju says: You can escape court today. But you cannot escape eternity tomorrow. Proverbs 27:1 “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”
SETTLE THIS IN KANUNGU
A name is greater than wealth. Proverbs 22:1
That is why we tell officers: “Protect your name. Don’t sell it for money.”
But the name of Jesus is greater than both. Philippians 2:9
Your name can get you a job. Your name can get you respect. But only His name can get you into heaven. Acts 4:12 “There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
All my titles will remain at the grave. RDC. PhD. Honorary Doctorate. They will not cross into eternity.
Only one name crosses the grave: Jesus.
So, I put it to you plainly:
You have refused bribes, but have you received Jesus?
You have a clean audit, but do you have a clean heart?
You are fighting corruption in the district, but are you committing the greatest corruption before God?
Matthew 16:26 “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”
THE GREATEST CORRUPTION IS TO DIE WITHOUT JESUS AFTER HE PAID FOR YOU.
THE GREATEST WEALTH IS TO CARRY HIS NAME WHEN YOUR OWN NAME EXPIRES.
Humble yourself today. Accept the One who paid your debt. Because Hebrews 9:27 says: “It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.”
At that judgment, the IGG will not be there. The President will not be there.
Only two names will matter: Your name, and the name of Jesus.
Make sure His name is on your file.
