The Eritrean broker who on Monday was dramatically arrested at OPM Refugee Department offices along Sir Kaggwa near Makerere has vowed not to go down alone.
In multiple private conversations with some of his cronies from Old Kampala Police Cells where he was taken and locked up after apprehension, the Eritrean has revealed a lot and he is threatening to implicate his accomplices within Police and the OPM refugee department if they continue shunning him at his hour of need.
The mean-looking Eritrean, who was arrested after a group of 25 Eritrean asylum and refugee registration seekers stormed the department claiming they had each been extorted between $50 and $100, says there are OPM insiders who were partaking of such money and on whose behalf such extortion proceeds have always been collected over the years.
He claims that such people are so much addicted to using brokers to extort such money to the extent that they are determined to fight members of top management who dare initiate reforms aimed at bringing such corruption schemes to an end.
The Eritrean suspect has detailed how such users who have now dumped him, use anonymous whistle blowing tactics to drag such reform-minded management officials to big government offices in order to blackmail them into silence.
His accomplices, with whom such extorted monies have always been shared/eaten, are mainly stationed inside the refugee registration and protection units of the department. The other enablers are Police insiders from the same neighborhood.
Such rogue-minded insiders operating at the registration and protection unit are said to be nostalgic about the days of the old regimes at the department, when soliciting of such bribes was the order of the day.
The apprehended Eritrean believes that such rogue-minded insiders are determined to work day and night in order to force the clock backwards so that the days of the old regime return in order for them to continue soliciting for and obtaining bribes in order to be able to render refugees documentation services which are supposed to be obtained free of charge.
The latest developments at the Refugee department have also instigated Ms Jolie Batamarizo, a sexual harassment victim and who is also a female Rwandese refugee, to revive her complaint against a rampaging sex predator, an insider, who used forceful and manipulative tactics to seduce and sedate her into involuntary sex marathons earlier this year.
She had given up after failing to get help but the media publicity that followed the Monday events at the refugee department have since motivated him to rejuvenate his claim while demanding for justice.
