Sex Talk: Spice up things with these exercises

Every couple of years, I revisit this topic, because I don’t think we take it seriously enough.

Exercise your pelvic muscle, or to be more precise, the pubococcygeus (PC) muscle. Both men and women have it, and it is incredibly important in determining the quality of sex, among the other benefits of it being in good health.

If you seem to have zero control over your ejaculation, then gentleman, you neglected the PC muscle. If your bladder seems to be marching to its own drum beat, then you have not been doing your Kegel exercises.

If the sex with your spouse feels loose and immemorable for both of you because you lost your grip during lovemaking due to childbirth or sexual routine, then again, you got lazy, my dear.

The PC muscle is important in bladder function, but even more important in improving sensuality during sex. How do you know it lost its sturdiness? You go to the toilet and even wet your clothes as you try to undress, because the bladder function seems to be in freefall.

Or, when you start to pee then try to stop mid-flow, there is not even a millisecond pause in the flow, no matter how hard you try to clench the PC muscle. And when making love, do you feel like your vagina walls are atrophied and do not respond and don’t even seem to be part of the activities at all?

You don’t do your Kegels, and it is ruining your marriage. What is stopping you from doing exercises that don’t require equipment, scrunching your face, sportswear or taking a break from your busy schedule?

I mean, right there in the middle of your PowerPoint presentation, you can bear down on your pelvic muscle, squeezing and releasing at short intervals, holding for ten seconds and releasing for five, and your audience would never know how busy you are.

An exercise (Kegels) where you don’t even break a sweat and can be done as you wait at the bank, talk to the president, debate Anita Among, name it… why would anyone let themselves go?

Women fear losing their grip on things – urine being just a part of it – just as much as men fear anything that threatens their virility, including premature ejaculation. So, why don’t you just stop being lazy and do your Kegels?

A strong PC muscle stops you from barreling straight for the finish line before the race even starts, and gives you more control during sex – its other functions of supporting the rectum, urethra and bladder, aside.

Every time you go for a ‘short call’ test the strength of your PC muscle by attempting to stop the urine mid- flow. You will monitor your progress that way. And even when you register good progress, don’t stop.

A strong PC muscle will intensify your orgasms and make things ‘playful’ and more enjoyable – IYKYK! So, make it part of your daily routine.

When you flip the eggs for breakfast, clench down there, count to ten then unclench as you flip for the other side to also cook. The things that make some marriages and the sex therein miserable are easily rectified; we just don’t know how.
