CYBER ATTACK ALERT! Hackers Target NSSF, System Shutdown Sparks Panic

Clients of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) who use the Employer Portal will have to wait longer after the system suddenly went offline.

In a brief public statement, NSSF cited a “temporary disruption” to the portal but did not explain the cause. However, highly placed sources have revealed that the Fund’s technical team is investigating a suspected cyber breach involving a third-party service provider.

According to insiders, suspected fraudsters may have hacked into the system, prompting an emergency shutdown as experts race to contain the damage.

It remains unclear whether clients’ personal data — including login credentials, personal details, and financial records — may have been compromised.

In a message sent to clients, NSSF stated:

“Dear Esteemed Client,

Greetings from NSSF. This is to notify you that there is a temporary disruption to our Employer Portal. Our technical team is working tirelessly to resolve the issue, and we shall communicate as soon as the portal is restored. We regret any inconvenience caused and request your patience and understanding.”

Cybersecurity experts warn that hackers are increasingly targeting financial institutions and large corporations to steal sensitive information or demand ransom.
