Bushenyi district political giants Iddi Basajja, Hon Annet Katusiime Mugisha, Micheal Mawanda, Amanya Cohen Kyampene, Tugume Bonifance and Herbert Bwirizayo were nominated by electoral commission district registrar at the RDC’s board room in Bushenyi town.
The first person to be nominated was Micheal Mawanda at 9am followed by Cohen Kyampene, Iddi Basajja, Tugume bonifance and Annet Katusiime Mugisha. By press time, Herbert Bwirizayo was still being nominated.
Micheal Mawanda (NRM) and Herbert Bwirizayo (independent) were nominated for Igara East, Iddi Basajja (NRM) for Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality, Cohen Kyampene (NRM) Tugume Bonifance (Independent) for Igara west while Annet Katusiime Mugisha (NRM) for woman member of parliament.
Among the giants nominated today with a sure deal to win is Iddi Basajja, Annet Katusiime Mugisha.

Those whose fate is not yet determined are; Cohen Kyampene with the nomination of Tugume Bonifance in Igara west and Micheal Mawanda who is struggling to win the Igara East after Herbert Bwirizayo showed too much strength with a lot of support for greater Kyabugimbi which include Ruhumuro, Kyabugimbi subcounty and Kyabugimbi Town council.
Bwirizayo is stronger compared to Mawanda because of the above three local governments which vote bloc and leading the constituency on phone.
Mk newslink MD asked mawanda why he leads the constituency on phone and answered that the people of Igara East want services but not physical presence.
