INTERNATIONAL WORLD AIDS DAY TO BE CELEBRATED IN BUSHENYI WITH A PRECURSOR MARATHON ON 30 NOVEMBER 2025

Bushenyi district chairman Jafari basajabala has today 7 November 2025 launched ‘empuumo’ marathon in district as one of activities to create awareness for the world AIDS day to be celebrated at Kizinda playground on 1 December 2025 where the chief guest will be the president of Uganda HE Yoweri Museveni.
The marathon as well as the function are being organized a Non-Governmental Organisation BHI headed by John Kateeba. The local activities are chaired by Pison Mugizi who spear headed all the events for both ‘empuumo’ marathon as well as World AID day to be held at Kizinda playground.
The activities of ‘empuumo’ marathon were launched today at Bushenyi council hall attended by all district leaders as well as politicians including the NRM flag bearer for Bushenyi Ishaka municipality Hajji Iddi Basaja.
During the press conference, the issue of expensive and lack of condoms in risky areas like Kizinda, Butare, Rwentuuha among others featured most and leaders promised that the issue will handled at a higher level and ensure that condoms are available at cheaper prices.
The managing director of mknewslink.com, asked leaders on how they are ready to cope up with the situation where the president of the US Donald Trump withdrew the funding and closed USAID in Uganda and other countries. They responded that they are planning to use Harambee style of contributing money by the public themselves to sustain the situation.
Kits for ‘empuumo’ marathon are being sold at 20000 at shell Bushenyi, Rubis Bushenyi, Kituzi petrol station, KIU and shell Kizinda.
