SALUTE! Luwero Minister Kaboyo Commissions Liberation Veterans’ Houses Built by UPDF’s NEC

Nakaseke, November 12, 2025 — The State Minister for Luwero Triangle and Rwenzori Affairs, Hon. Alice Kaboyo, has commissioned two houses built for liberation veterans in Nakaseke District.

The houses, funded by the Ministry and constructed by NEC Construction Works and Engineering Ltd, a subsidiary of the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), are part of government efforts to honour and support those who participated in Uganda’s 1981–1986 liberation struggle.

The beneficiaries are families of the late Capt. Nakabale Ssempa of Kyerere, Kapeeka, and Capt. Yoram Kisuze of Namusaale, Nakaseke District.

She also thanked the people of Nakaseke for their continued support of government initiatives, urging them to embrace poverty-alleviation programmes such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyoga.

“I thank NEC for the quality of their work, timely delivery, and competitive pricing. This is a commendable example of value for money and patriotism in action,” Hon. Kaboyo said.

Representing the NEC Managing Director, Lt Gen James Mugira, the General Manager of NEC Construction Works, Eng. Brian Buhanda, thanked the President for his visionary leadership and the Minister for entrusting NEC with the project.
