24 More Suspects Added on Muwanga Kivumbi’s File

The State Prosecution in the matter where Butambala Member of Parliament, Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi is accused of terrorism, has added more people on the file.

Muwanga who was brought under tight security was represented by a team of lawyers led by Erias Lukwago had appeared in court for mentioning of his case.

The other suspects include; Nicholas Walakira, Musa Sekaggo, Joseph Wakikatu, Rahim Mubiru, Jonathan Ssentongo, Madina Ssemaganda, Hanifa Nakibuuka, Paul Mawanda, Jackson Ddungu, Yusuf Ramadhan Kiwanuka, Buruhan Matovu, Akram Bukenya Tumusiime, Wilson Bulinda, Swabur Wagolina, Niclas Kiberu, Fahad Kasozi, Kelvin Kayanja, Twaib Sessanga, Brian Sewanyana, Brian Owori and Brian Mwanguzi.

The Prosecution informed court,that they need time to investigate the matter since the scope of investigations had widened through adding more people on the file and thus asked for more time to finalize with the investigations.

Court has allowed the State Prosecution’s request and adjourned the matter to

February 17, 2026 to allow further investigations.

Prosecution contends that,MUwanga Kivumbi Muhammad and others still at large between 11th- 17th January, 2026 at various places in Uganda including Kibibi Town Council and Gombe Town Council within the Butambala District, for purposes of influencing the government or intimidating the public or a section of the public and for a political or economic aim,indiscriminately without due regard to the safety of others or property carried out acts prejudicial to national security.
