The Grand Final of the Bubangizi SSS Alumni league also known as #BubzLeague will kick off tomorrow (Saturday 2 March, 2024) morning at Bubangizi sports field in Kashensero Town Council, Mitooma District.
The four teams who have been playing in Kampala at Prime Arena will now face off each other for the finals to get a winning champion. Four other teams have been formed to play during the one day’s sports event. They include the School team, Staff, Select Team and the Bubz League Organizing Committee Team.
Akareere FC Vs Hunters FC is set to be the toughest and opening match as the leagues renown losers according to table standings are fighting for points to clean their sheet.
Both Rwekitsigazi FC and Hunters FC had a perfect record in the league competition by winning and drawing in most of their respective matches enroute to the finals.
Ensolo SC and Akarere FC are fighting for the third position avoiding relegation with the former in the 4th position one point a head of the latter.
Owen Nahwera, the League’s president said in an interview with Parrots Media that old students have organized among other activities, Career Guidance and Counseling services to students at the school which is ongoing today.
He said the committee decided to host their grand finale at the school premises purposefully to create social network between the alumni and continuing students to enable them identify and develop their talents, dream careers and academic potentials.
The president further asked the alumni community, Bubangizi community and well-wishers to turn up in big numbers to support their respective teams as they showcase football talents tomorrow.
The 2023/24 Bubz League is the first edition and organizers will announce dates for the launch of the second season soon. The League is sponsored by Brandy Wines, Parrots Media Tonisha Tour and Travels all companies owned by the school’s old students among others.
