Dr. Kenneth Omona Officially Hands Over Office to New PPS, Gloria Asio Omaswa

In a formal transition today, Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun has officially passed on the mantle to the new Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to H.E the President, Ms. Gloria Asio Omaswa.

Following his appointment as Minister of State for Northern Uganda by President Museveni in a recent cabinet reshuffle, Dr. Omona, alongside Ms. Omaswa, has marked this significant handover at the Office of the President, Kampala. Representing the Minister for Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda, Hajj Yunus Kakande, the Secretary-Office of the President, expressed gratitude to Dr. Omona for his commendable service and acknowledged the President’s confidence in him by offering another crucial appointment.

Addressing the gathering, Hajj. Kakande advised the incoming PPS to prioritize empathy and teamwork, vital for the smooth execution of her duties within the State House.

Ms. Lucy Nakyobe, Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet, lauded Dr. Omona’s dedication and contribution to the President’s administration, wishing him success in his new ministerial role. She warmly welcomed Ms. Asio Gloria to her new position, acknowledging her wealth of experience in public service and expressing confidence in her ability to excel.

Ms. Jane Barekye, the State House Comptroller, extended appreciation to Dr. Omona for his service and assured the new PPS of continuous support to enhance State House operations. In her response, Ms. Omaswa expressed gratitude to God and President Museveni for the opportunity to serve Uganda in her new capacity, emphasizing her commitment to national development. Dr. Omona, in his remarks, thanked President Museveni for the privilege of working closely with him, describing it as an invaluable experience. He expressed admiration for the President’s leadership qualities and wished Ms. Omaswa success in her new role. The ceremony witnessed the presence of notable officials, including Senior Presidential Advisor, Economic Affairs, Mr. Stephen Muyingo, among others, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
