Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, a citizen of Egypt, whose body was discovered in a swamp in Soroti district on Saturday, was allegedly murdered due to a business dispute with his fellow countrymen, as disclosed by the police. Zinhom, aged 32, had been involved in supplying kitchenware and appliances to various customers, including civil servants, often on credit terms.

His clientele primarily consisted of individuals operating within government institutions such as schools and health facilities. Last week, he went missing, prompting a search that ended with the recovery of his body dumped in a swamp. Oscar Gregg Ageca, the spokesperson for East Kyoga Regional Police, stated that initial investigations suggest conflicts within the business involving other Egyptians.

The police revealed that out of the five individuals apprehended in connection with the incident, four were Egyptian nationals engaged in similar business activities across the Teso and Lango sub-regions.

While the police have not disclosed the identities of the three remaining suspects in custody, Muhammad Nabil Ali, an Egyptian who was reportedly last seen with the victim, was detained along with Mark Kisolo, an employee of Zinhom, on the first day of the investigation when the missing person report was filed.
