Johnson Odongo, the former attacking midfielder for Gaddafi FC, is in advanced negotiations with Tanzania Premier League side Coastal Union, with a two-year contract on the table, The Sports Nation can reliably confirm.

Odongo, who joined Gaddafi FC in 2022 from Police FC, initially signed a one-year deal which he extended for another six months, expiring in January 2024.

Following a brief sabbatical from football, the prolific playmaker is poised for a return, with Coastal Union emerging as his likely destination.

However, the Tanga-based Coastal Union is not the only club interested in Odongo’s talents. Several teams from the Uganda Premier League and Ethiopia are also vying for his services.

KCCA FC is keen on securing his signature, where he would reunite with former coach Abdallah Mubiru. A potential return to Police FC is also on the horizon after the club’s promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

Additionally, Wakiso Giants, who pursued him in January without success, remain interested.

Ethiopian side Dire Dawa Kenema City has also presented a contract offer for Odongo.
