Kataka defeated Kyetume 2-1 at Mbale Stadium in matchday 17 of the FUFA Big League played on Thursday.

It was the perfect response from the Lufumbi boys following a heavy 4-2 away loss against Kiyinda Boys last week.

David Seyi Oyedda put the visitors ahead as early as the 9th minute, but Kataka responded a few minutes later, equalizing through Swamad Okur in the 14th minute.

Okur converted from the spot after Muhammad Nsereko dribbled past Nasser Muzamir and he was brought down in the box.

Towards the end of the first half, Kataka captain Steven Namaisi once again produced his usual magic to produce the winner of the game in the 40th minute. The defender brought in a long throw-in, and centreback Okello Imulla headed-in from the far post to put the hosts ahead.

Okello’s goal was enough to give Kataka the win they needed so much at home. Kataka has now moved to 26 points, and ascended to fourth position on the 15-team Big League table.

Kyetume’s Thursday defeat on the road leaves them on 17 points in 12th position, keeping them struggling in the relegation zone.
