*KIU Titans Vs City Oilers (0-1) – 9pm

City Oilers will look to tighten their grip on the National Basketball League (NBL) title as they face off against the KIU Titans in game two of the finals at Lugogo this Friday.

The Oilers secured a 70-61 victory in game one on Wednesday, giving them a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-seven series as they chase a record-extending 10th consecutive NBL championship.

Leading the charge for the Oilers in the opener was United States guard Petty Parrish, who delivered an outstanding performance with 22 points.

Parrish’s contribution was pivotal to the team’s well-earned win, and he will once again be a key figure on Friday, especially with the Oilers dealing with absences in their lineup.

The KIU Titans, however, struggled to find their rhythm in game one, with several players underperforming. Guard Kasereka Tembo, hampered by a shoulder injury, managed only two points, significantly below his usual output.

The Titans will be hoping for a better showing from him, especially since he has been cleared to play in Friday’s game.

Other key players, including Mpiya Juf, Joel Lukoji, and Edgar Munaaba, failed to reach double digits in scoring, leaving the Titans in a precarious position.

The team has yet to win a league title, and with this being their third time facing the Oilers in the finals, they will need to step up their game to avoid letting the series slip away.
