Luke Owoyesigyire, the KMP spokesperson, has confirmed that the police have taken into custody Mr. Sebuma Hussein, Dumba David, and Abdullah Jumah on charges related to a violent incident that resulted into loss of life on Tuesday evening.
According to Owoyesigyire, these three individuals are suspected of being involved in the death of Mr. Agama Peter, a security guard affiliated with Wolves Security Group, while on duty at Banxele Forex bureau in Kabusu Rubaga division.
“Mr. Agama, a male adult approximately 36 years old, was fatally shot while on duty, and his firearm was forcibly taken,” Owoyesigyire explained.
The police further stated that upon receiving reports from eyewitnesses regarding the rapid departure of the assailants, they initiated swift action in collaboration with law enforcement, leading to a pursuit and eventual apprehension of the suspects in Kawaala zone at Premier Betting.
“Two firearms were recovered during the operation, along with 13 rounds of ammunition, including those believed to have been used in the commission of the crime,” he asserted.
Owoyesigyire emphasized that evidence collected from the crime scene will undergo meticulous examination as investigations into this tragic event continue. He also assured that further details of the incident will be provided in due course.
As the deceased’s body is respectfully conveyed to the city mortuary for postmortem examination, the police expressed gratitude to eyewitnesses for providing detailed information about the assailants and extended deepest condolences to the family and colleagues of the victim.
