Patrick Okidi | Obongi, (UG): According to Obongi RDC, Hasaka Samuel Mpimbasa, five people employed by Gulu University have been arrested for secretly constructing a toilet and a waste management facility in Ubbi village, Palorinya sub-county.

The arrest follows a petition by the Chairperson LC3 Palorinya sub-county, Mr. Eruaga Luke, and the Chairperson LC1 Ubbi village, Mr. Izama Daniel, who complained that Gulu University handpicked individuals from the streets to construct a toilet and a waste management facility in Ubbi village, costing over 100 million shillings. This was done without any groundbreaking ceremony and resulted in shoddy work.

A letter addressed to the Chairperson LCV and copied to the RDC and CAO called for action against Gulu University.

An operation led by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Obongi, Mr. Samuel Mpimbasa Hashaka, along with DISO Denis Elyebu and the police, resulted in the arrest of five individuals found at the site.
