•UPDF 2-0 Busoga United

SC Villa secured a crucial 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Express FC, completing a league double over them this season in a closely contested match at Wankulukuku stadium

The lone goal came in the first half courtesy of Charles Lwanga, who capitalized on poor defending from Express to volley the ball past goalkeeper Abdul Kimera, leaving him with no chance.

Despite the intense rivalry between the two teams, the game was poorly attended on Saturday.

Nonetheless, it was a momentous occasion for SC Villa as they notched their second win over Express this season. The previous encounter between the two sides ended with SC Villa triumphing 2-1 at the same venue in the first round of fixtures.

The victory breathes new life into SC Villa’s title aspirations this season, as they now sit seven points behind league leaders Kitara. With Kitara having played two more games, SC Villa will be eager to capitalize on any slip-ups from the frontrunners as they strive for league glory.

Meanwhile, the defeat marks a disappointing start for Express under the guidance of new coach Baker Mbowa and his assistant Mike Mutyaba. The duo took over the reins following the resignation of Alex Isabirye, but they will need to regroup quickly to steer Express back on track.
