Seven nominated for Dokolo Woman MP by-election

Seven people have been declared duly nominated candidates to contest in Dokolo district Woman member of parliament by-election by close of business on Tuesday 12 March, 2024 at 5pm, EC reported.

The electoral commission announced that on the second day they nominated only one candidate, Arao Rebecca (independent) bringing the total number of duly nominated candidates to seven.

“Arao Rebecca (independent) has been duly nominated to contest in the by-election of District Woman MP, Dokolo District,” EC returning officer for Dokolo district, Erikwaine Ngobi said.

Other six candidates were nominated on the first and they include Adongo Janet Rose Elau Okello (NRM), Ageno Harriet (NUP), Aguti Sarah (UPC) and Akullo Esther-Obot (Indep).

Others are Alwoc Austin Ogwal Rosemary (FDC) and Lalam Grace Hanna (Indep)

The EC urged candidates to desist from mudslinging and use of language that promotes character assassination throughout their campaigns which are starting tomorrow Wednesday 13th to 19th March, 2024, across the district.

Arao Rebecca (independent), the last candidate who was nominated for Dokolo district Woman MP by-election on second day of the nomination exercise on March 12.

Polling for the district woman MP by-election, Dokolo district according to the EC roadmap will take place on 21st March, 2024.
