Seven players from Mbarara City are set to depart after their contracts ran out, SportsNation has learnt.
The players leaving are Yunus Sibira, Bakali Magumba, Ronald Mutebi, Sadiq Ssekyembe, Amir Kakomo, Pius Wangi, and Benson Muhindo.
A source within the club revealed that some of these players might enter into negotiations for contract renewals. However, the final decision will hinge on the incoming head coach’s assessment.
The team’s former head coach, Wasswa Bbosa, has also left after his one-year contract ended. He is reportedly heading to Express FC.
Speculation is rife that the Ankole Lions may reappoint Livingston Mbabazi as their new head coach.
