Uganda U20 Women’s National Team Head Coach Sheryl Botes Ulanda has unveiled the final squad set to represent the nation at the All Africa Games 2023.

The tournament is slated to take place in Accra, Ghana, from March 8th to 23rd, 2024.

This marks a historic moment for the Queen Cranes as they gear up to make their debut appearance at the quadrennial event. Uganda’s qualification for the tournament stems from their commendable performance in the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, where they secured a spot among the top eight teams.

Placed in Group A, Uganda will face formidable opponents including hosts Ghana, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. The journey kicks off with a match against neighboring Tanzania on March 9th, followed by clashes with Ethiopia and hosts Ghana on March 12th and 15th, respectively.

With anticipation mounting, the team is set to embark on their journey to Ghana on Wednesday morning at 2:45 am aboard Ethiopian Airlines. The selection of the final squad underscores the nation’s commitment to women’s football and represents a significant milestone in Uganda’s sporting history.

As the countdown to the All Africa Games begins, all eyes are on the Queen Cranes as they prepare to showcase their talent on the continental stage.
