A 19-year-old boy, Ekenem, has impregnated his biological mother while experimenting with a love charm, according to a story reported by The Guardian.
Ekenem expressed deep remorse for his actions, stating,
“I am deeply sorry for all that has happened, I did not mean to do this. I saw myself falling in love with her after the love charm prepared for me. I have to confess because I know by so doing, God will touch her mind and I know she will forgive me.
He further revealed that he realized he was making love to his mother when he thought the charm wouldn’t work. Upon this realization, he threatened to kill her, leading to the police being alerted.
The Guardian reported that Ekenem had sought the services of a native doctor who had prepared the love charm for him, which he used on his mother. He had also intended to use the charm on a matron at the boarding school where he was a student.
The incident came to light when the husband of Ekenem’s mother returned home after being away and was confronted with the news of the pregnancy, which he denied responsibility for.
“I did not know how it happened, but all I can say is that a young man who looked like my son suddenly found his way into my room in the wee hours and I was speechless,” the 19-year-old’s mother was quoted as saying.
According to the police in Asaba, Ekenem was arrested following his threat to kill his mother out of embarrassment.
