Stanbic Bank commits sh500 million to Entebbe Club for Match Play Challenge

Entebbe , Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT |  Stanbic Bank has committed 500 million to Entebbe Club for the next 3 years as part of the rebranded Stanbic Bank Golf Match Play Challenge from March 16-12th October.

This exciting Match Play tournament has been running for 7 seasons at East Africa’s Oldest Golf Club under Singleton Whisky, a luxury brand from Uganda Breweries, who will this time be the alcoholic beverage partner and sponsor of this 8th edition.

“We like to think about the lifestyle of our customers and golf to us is an integral part of it,” Samuel Mwogeza, the Head of Private and Personal Banking of the Bank said at the launch of the tournament at there head office in Nakasero.

“We are very excited about this tournament and looking forward to our partnership with our partners CFAO Motors, Uganda Airlines and DSTV Business.”

The tournament will have seven  rounds with a qualifier which will seek 64 pairs that will then join in the first round.

“We are grateful for this partnership with Stanbic Bank and hoping the golfing fraternity will benefit from this partnership,” Serwano Walusimbi, the club captain said at the launch.

“It’s an exciting and challenging tournament where we are playing match Play where you play against yourself, the course together with your partner against your opponents.”

The other sponsors on board are CFAO Motors, will be offering a brand new Toyota LandCruiser for an ace on the course in the Qualifying round and another Brand Car on the Grand Finale.

DStv Business has offered sh25 million in cash with sh40 million worth of prizes and other give aways to the participants. Uganda Airlines will be offering tickets to winners to destinations Zanzibar, Dubai and Mombasa.
