Kitara FC management has called upon all the fans to turn up in large numbers as the Royals host Vipers in a Uganda Premier League (UPL) top-of-the-table clash.

The Kitara CEO Joshua Atugonza has streamlined some guidelines to follow, and given assurance that there will be adequate security before, during and after the match in Masindi.

Apparently, there was fear as regards security at Masindi stadium during football games, with the most concerned being the visiting side – Vipers and their fans, but the hosts have clarified and guided accordingly.

The overall security before, during and after the match shall be overseen by Dixon Okello – a trained and certified security personnel at CAF Level.

Okello’s team will work with the local and hired stewards and other security personnel from the Uganda Police and they will be placed at all levels in and out of the stadium.

While addressing claims of purported panga wielding fans in the stadium circulating on social media, Kitara confirmed that fans in the video are theirs, but added that the pangas are just made out of paper,al and not real (metallic) ones.

“The video circulating is for Kitara fans during the BUL game. These are paper pangas that the fans used for fun and the video can clearly show someone purporting to cut off his neck,” Atugonza explained.

“The security cannot allow the actual panga to be inside the stadium,” the Kitara CEO added.

The hosts have also guided that the visiting team will access entrance through the VIP gate where the bus shall drop them and later secure parking at MTN service center next to the stadium. Kitara will cater for their visitors’ parking fees.

The visiting fans will be separated from the home fans; A separate area has been reserved for the visiting fans. “We however ask them to be disciplined and follow security instructions,” Kitara cautioned.

“The VIP fans have a separate entry as will be guided by the stewards at the gate. We however ask the VIP fans to behave according to the set stadium rules to avoid embarrassment,” Kitara warned before reiterating;

“We urge e everyone intending to make it to Masindi stadium to watch our game this Friday versus Vipers to adhere to the set security guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.”

The two teams last met at the same venue just four days ago in the League Cup when Kitara qualified to the semifinal after beating Vipers 5-4 in penalties following a two-all draw after 90 minutes and extra time.

As it stands, Kitara lead the table with 44 points from 23 games, BUL (43) is second while Vipers sit third on the 16-team table with 42 points from 22 games.

The winner (on Friday) between the two teams will be topping the table by the end of the day, awaiting the final result in the BUL match against Express on Saturday.
