UPDF have officially unveiled striker Shakib Mayanja as their eighth new signing, from third division club Bunyaruguru United.
From the Western Regional League to the Uganda Premier League (UPL), the skillful and speedy forward’s keen eye for goal is what lured the army side into signing him.
Mayanja is expected to contribute to UPDF’s attacking force that already has experienced Samuel Ssekamate amongst other forwards.
In the ongoing transfer window, UPDF have also confirmed the signing of Asaph Ssegujja, Kitara Daniel, Ocen Emmanuel, Joseph Janjali, Andrew Samson Kigozi and Ronald Kayondo.
Meanwhile, the club also has a new Head Coach, Paul Kiwanuka, who served as the Assistant Coach to Pius Ngabo last season.
The 2024/25 UPL season starts this week, and UPDF start with an away trip, to face Maroons at Luzira on Sunday, September 15.
