UCU Canons will be eyeing a return to winning ways against Ndejje University Angels in a National Basketball League game on Wednesday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Nicholas Natuhereza’s UCU come into this tie following a disappointing 56-80 loss to the City Oilers in their previous outing on Monday.

Despite putting up a fierce fight, the Canons succumbed to the Oilers’ dominance, particularly in the second half, where they struggled to maintain momentum.

Guard Jimmy Otim’s limited minutes in that second half due to health concerns further compounded the Canons’ challenges.

Additionally, poor shooting performance from beyond the arc and struggles on the boards hampered their efforts against the Oilers.

Key players, including Lwabaga Ibanda and Peter Sifuma, faced difficulties finding their rhythm, contributing to the Canons’ defeat.

However, with a renewed focus on improving their game, the Canons remain optimistic about their prospects against Ndejje University Angels.

Ndejje, despite registering victories against Livingstone and Kampala Rockets, have lost the other seven matches.

They have had to grapple with a short-handed squad, including in a recent 71-81 loss to Power where they also had eight players.

UCU Canons are also seeking revenge after suffering defeats at the hands of Ndejje in both regular season meetings last year.
