In what promises to be a thrilling encounter, KCCA FC is set to clash with URA FC in a highly anticipated Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16 fixture at Lugazi.

With the elimination of two football giants, Express and SC Villa, the spotlight now shifts to this crucial match where the winner not only secures a spot in the quarterfinals but also enhances their chances for silverware this season.

The Tax Collectors currently sit four points above KCCA in the league standings, giving them a slight edge as they head into Monday’s showdown.

Speaking ahead of the game, URA coach David Obua expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure victory: “As usual, we have the same mentality to win, and it’s what we are going with. You have to beat the best to be the best.”

Obua further emphasized the importance of the match, highlighting the preparedness of his players despite the potential absence of key players due to injuries.

On the other side, KCCA coach Abdallah Mubiru acknowledged the challenges his team faces away from home against a formidable opponent like URA: “It’s not an easy game away from home against a very energized and well-trained team.”

Despite the hurdles, Mubiru expressed confidence in his squad’s ability to overcome the obstacles and emerge victorious.

The match holds significant importance for both teams, with KCCA aiming to replicate their league success against URA, where they secured a 3-2 victory at Lugogo.

With players like Shaban Muhammad and Mustafa Mujuzi facing doubts, and URA’s Enock Walusimbi, Ibrahim Dada, and Laban Tibita possibly sidelined due to injuries, both teams will be expected to field competitive lineups in pursuit of a crucial win.
