Kitara will hope to get their revenge against Vipers when the two sides face off in the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

Kitara were left reeling after that 2-1 defeat against Vipers at Kitende in the league’s first round.

The Royals had a would-be late equaliser wrongly disallowed following an incorrect offside call by assistant referee Juma Osire.

Despite video evidence proving otherwise, the goal was denied, costing Kitara valuable points in a 2-1 loss to Vipers.

Following the incident, Osire faced repercussions, receiving a six-month suspension from FUFA.

Kitara have waited for this time to prove a point, and it remains to be seen if they will be able to get their revenge against the defending champions.

Both teams are also contenders for the league title, with Kitara currently leading third-placed Vipers by two points, albeit having played one more games than Vipers.

Adding to the stakes, Vipers will have to face Kitara again in the league’s second round, the game, also in Masindi, will be played this Friday.

Vipers included Goalkeeper Alfred Mudekereza and forward Abubakar Lawal in their travelling squad for a side that previously sacked head coach Livingston Mbabazi

For Kitara, Arthur Kiggundu and Frank Yiga remain doubtful having missed the previous league defeat against NEC at Lugogo.
