Police lost 2-0 to NEC at Kavumba to crush out of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, as the diehards proceeded to the semifinals of the oldest national football competition in Uganda.

Cromwel Rwothomio scored his first goal in the League Cup this season to put NEC ahead in the 4th minute.

The striker, who has also scored nine goals for NEC in the Uganda Premier League met Rashid Okocha’s cross from the left to loop the ball past Police goalkeeper Edward Kasibante to the back of the net.

With ten minutes left to play for on the clock, Gadaffi Wahab doubled NEC’s lead to further complicate Police chances of coming back in the game.

Wahab converted from the spot after Marvin Kavuma was brought down in the opponent’s box, and that was all for the diehards to book the first slot in this season’s last four.

In the other quarter final fixtures, Pajule Lions will host Pakwach Young Stars in Pader, while KCCA visit BUL at Njeru on Saturday, April 13.

On Sunday, April 14, Vipers will make a long trip to Masindi to play Kitara.
