Preview: Relegation Battle in Bombo

UPDF hosts Gaddafi in a crucial Uganda Premier League relegation clash on Tuesday in Bombo.

Sitting second from the bottom with 16 points, UPDF trails Gaddafi by just two points.

The victor in this encounter will significantly enhance their chances of avoiding relegation this season.

Having secured six points from their last three matches, UPDF FC aims to capitalize on home advantage.

Notably, their last two wins have both come against Jinja-based teams, Busoga United and BUL, with the latter win achieved despite being a man down.

Gaddafi finds themselves in an unexpected position this season, putting pressure on coach David Mutono to produce results.

With losses in all their last four games and no wins in their last eight, their performance raises concerns.

Furthermore, their scant three goals in the past 12 league games make relegation a looming possibility.

But picking a result in Bombo could be a stepping stone for their survival.

Gaddafi won the first round fixture 2-1 in December last year – Thomas Ochungo and Benson Muhindo were on target for Gaddafi while Joseph Bright Vuni brought one back for UPDF
