UPL Fixtures Rearranged to Thwart Potential Syndicate

0

The Uganda Premier League (UPL) Secretariat has adjusted fixtures to prevent any potential syndicate among teams as the season nears its conclusion.

Certain matches have been rescheduled to ensure that the top four teams Kitara, SC Villa, BUL, and Vipers play their last three games at the same time.

This move, as per UPL, aims to uphold the principles of fair competition.

The match between Busoga United FC and BUL FC, initially set for Wednesday, May 8, 2024, has been postponed to Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Express FC versus Busoga United FC has been rescheduled to May 5, 2024.

It’s worth noting that BUL was not slated to play on the final day of the season, as their original opponent, Arua Hill, was disqualified before the second round began.

Currently, BUL leads the 16-team table, having played 24 games with 13 wins, 7 draws, and 4 losses, totaling 46 points.

Defending champions Vipers trail in second place with 45 points from 23 games, comprising 13 wins, 6 draws, and 4 losses.

Kitara sits in third place with 44 points from 24 games, including 13 wins, 5 draws, and 6 losses.

SC Villa occupies fourth place, having played 23 games and earned 42 points, with 11 wins, 9 draws, and 3 losses.
