Congratulations, Your Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa, on your seventh-term swearing-in ceremony on 12th May 2026 at Kololo Independence Grounds. Between 1962 and 1986, Uganda endured a period of profound institutional decay, systemic insecurity, and economic collapse, marked by eight successive heads of state, extrajudicial killings, hyperinflation, and the breakdown of public services. At the lowest point, when public trust in the State had been eroded, a decisive constitutional intervention under General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni initiated a comprehensive program of national reconstruction, security restoration, and economic stabilization.
Four decades of uninterrupted, constitutionally entrenched governance have since transformed Uganda into a nation of relative peace, macroeconomic stability, infrastructural development, and inclusive growth. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has become a model of transformative governance, guided by a doctrinal framework refined at the National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi, and now structured around seven strategic pillars for the next phase of development. The focus has shifted from recovery to the deliberate preservation and consolidation of these hard-won gains.
President Museveni
The 15th January 2026 election affirmed this trajectory, with Ugandans voting by over 71 percent to renew President Museveni’s mandate under the campaign theme “Protecting the Gains.” This continuity reflects a consistent message across successive slogans — from “No Change” to “Consolidating the Achievements”; from “Prosperity for All” to “Peace, Unity and Transformation for All”; from “Steady Progress” to “Securing the Future”; and “Protecting the Gains,” which resonates well with the country’s history, present, and future. The 2026 inauguration stands as both a national milestone and a reaffirmation of constitutional continuity and regional stability.
Once again, I extend my profound congratulations.
