Score Beyond, a Sports and development Organisation that uses Sports to solve Community issues, has received a significant boost with the donation of sports equipment from the Germany Embassy.

The timely contribution, valued at Sh17 million, comes ahead of the eagerly anticipated Barefoot League scheduled to take place in Adjumani.

The donated equipment, including basketball hoops, goal posts, bibs, balls, and whistles, is essential for the successful operation of Score Beyond’s programs.

Executive Director Ali Mavita expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its pivotal role in expanding the organization’s reach and impact.

“We have been running the league since last year at Adjumani Model School, with over 100 children participating every weekend,” Mavita stated during a press briefing.

“These new equipment mean we can now extend our program to two schools, eliminating the need for children to travel long distances.”

Mavita highlighted Score Beyond’s commitment to not only fostering sports talent but also imparting life skills to the children.

Shee shared the inspiring success story of Immaculate Adongpiny, whose journey from receiving equipment to representing Uganda in international youth competitions epitomizes the organization’s impact.

“Last time we got donation from Germany embassy, we held the Gulu league, and one of the success stories is Immaculate Adongpiny, then she was playing basketball for the very first time. She went on to represent Uganda at Youth Competitions and now in Italy in one of the best academies.”

“We use sports as a tool to ensure that children stay in school longer,” Mavita explained, underscoring the broader impact of the initiative.

H.E. Hans von Schroeder, Deputy Ambassador of the German Embassy in Uganda, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, reaffirming Germany’s support for Score Beyond’s endeavors.

“We are very happy to partner again with Score Beyond, which demonstrates our confidence in their performance,” von Schroeder remarked.

The generous donation from the Germany Embassy not only equips Score Beyond for their upcoming league but also underscores the vital role of sports in youth development and education. With the support of the Germany Embassy, Score Beyond continues to positively impact the lives of children in Uganda.
