The 2024 National Hockey League continues this weekend with record league winners Wananchi against Badgers the match day headliner in the Men’s division.
The two are three of the sides in the division yet to lose a game this term, but Badgers have drawn once unlike their Saturday opponents who have won all their opening two games.
Badgers are enjoying the form of their life. They find themselves in an unfamiliar position- in second-, trailing only defending champions Weatherheard who are the current leaders of the log.
Badgers will hope to continue with their brilliant form, however, they will head into this game on the back of a 2-2 draw against Makerere.
They head into the game as overwhelming underdogs, but they will hope to ride on their form.
Their opponents Wananchi will look to make it three in three. Wananchi are fresh from a 14-0 thumping of Weatherhead Titans. They are expected to deliver the same kind of treatment to Badgers on Saturday.
Wananchi are placed third in the log with 6 points, three behind the leaders, but they can go top for at least hours with any kind of victory.
The record leaders have a better goal difference compared to their rivals. Victory will take them level on points with Weatherhead, but it will propell them to the top as Weatherheard who have played a game more play later in the day.
The champions will face their sister side Titans who are rooted to the bottom of the table with zero points.
The other match day four fixtures pit City Lions against Kampala Stallions, Thunders against Rockets and KHC Originals against Makerere. All these three games will happen on Sunday.
