Zimbaz Hold SMACK League Trophy Parade

Over the weekend, the ZIMBAZ, victors of Season Six of the SMACK League, electrified Kampala’s streets with their triumphant parade aboard a double-decker bus, showcasing their trophy and spreading joy throughout the city.

The celebrations began at 10 am from Zimbali Bistro & Lounge on Plot 44, Lumumba Avenue, as the ZIMBAZ embarked on a scenic tour around the city, with their open-top bus making stopovers at iconic landmarks such as the Independence Monument, Nakivubo Stadium, Kabaka’s Palace, and Makerere University.

For the ZIMBAZ, the parade was more than just a victory lap; it was a testament to their resilience and dedication throughout the season. Joseph ‘Sixtus’ Kasule Kawooya, the Chairman of the ZIMBAZ, expressed his gratitude to Guinness and other partners for fueling the dream of the SMACK League and emphasized the league’s role in fostering unity and celebration within the community.

The parade culminated in an official victory party at Zimbali Bistro and Lounge, where bottles of Guinness flowed through the crowd, courtesy of a ‘2k per bottle’ happy hour offer through FlexiPay.

Roy Tumwizere, Guinness Brand Manager, congratulated the ZIMBAZ and expressed excitement for the upcoming Season 7, set to kick off in April. Tumwizere highlighted the fruitful partnership between Guinness and the SMACK League, emphasizing their shared passion for football and community engagement.

The ZIMBAZ, powered by a host of sponsors including Guinness, Flexipay, and Zimbali Bistro & Lounge, showcased the spirit of camaraderie and achievement that defines the SMACK League, promising more exhilarating seasons to come.
