In a message shared on his official social media platforms, Ssentamu thanked the Makerere community for the trust and support accorded to him during his leadership.

“Big thanks to every Makerere student who trusted me, the administration that supported us, and my unstoppable cabinet. Above all, I appreciate the Lord who gave me the ability to execute all my duties diligently,” he stated.

Ssentamu noted that his administration sought to make a meaningful impact during its time in office.

“We didn’t just mark time, we made a difference. For now, goodbye. God bless you and God bless Makerere. We build for the future,” he added.

His farewell message comes days after Makerere University formally dissolved the 91st Guild Cabinet and the Guild Representative Council.

In a communication issued on Friday, the Office of the Dean of Students confirmed that the dissolution took effect on March 5, 2026, in accordance with the Makerere University Students’ Guild Statute 2022.

The dissolution officially marked the end of the 91st Guild leadership, paving the way for the transition to the next student administration at the university.
