Baagala Returns As KCCA Leopards Face JT Lady Jaguars

KCCA Leopards welcome back shooting guard Margaret Baagala, as they face off against the JT Lady Jaguars this Friday at Lugogo in the National Basketball League.

Baagala returns from a triumphant campaign in Tanzania, where she played a pivotal role in helping NIC secure the East Africa Netball Championship title.

Her presence is expected to significantly enhance KCCA’s scoring options that also include Perus Nyamwenge and Maureen Amoding. In her debut season with the Leopards, Baagala has been a consistent scorer, averaging 12.5 points per game since her transfer from Kampala University Ladies.

The Leopards currently boast a record of 12 wins and only three losses.

In their previous meeting on February 9, 2024, Baagala was a key contributor, scoring 11 points to help KCCA secure a 65-53 victory over the JT Lady Jaguars. Despite a sluggish start that saw the Jaguars trailing 22-38 at halftime, they managed a stronger second half, though it was not enough to overturn the deficit.

The JT Lady Jaguars, who have struggled with a thin squad this season, have lost six out of their 16 games, including two of their last five. However, they remain a formidable opponent with talents such as Brenda Kayaga, Sarah Ageno, Mercy Batamuliza, and Rhoda Naggita, who will be crucial to their efforts to upset the Leopards.

Coach Sudi Ulanga will rely heavily on these players to challenge a formidable KCCA team that is looking to secure a double over the Jaguars this season.
