Broline ‘the stylist’ Kimbugwe and Nerrick Tumusiime are set to clash in the main event on Saturday as Season Three of the prestigious Uganda Boxing Champions League gets underway at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

The fighters stoked anticipation during their fiery Face-off on Friday, trading verbal jabs that have heightened expectations for their Light Middleweight (71kgs) bout.

In the war of words, the comical Tumusiime branded the bout as his wedding, declaring he would be “marrying” his long-time girlfriend, Broline.

Representing Kololo, Tumusiime will make his Champions League debut officially, having earned his spot via the National Open path where he won the Light Middleweight category.

His victory over Owen Kibira in a contentious final, sets up his much-anticipated debut.

Kimbugwe, seeking redemption after a decisive 5-0 loss to Muzamir Ssemuddu in the Season Two final, aims to leverage his experience against Tumusiime.

Despite Tumusiime’s relative inexperience, his aggressive style from the opening bell could lead to an unexpected outcome.

The Light Middleweight division also features notable fighters such as Owen Kibira from Lukanga Boxing Club, Depark Mawanda of East Coast, and wild cards Bashir Sserugo and Ashraf Mutaasa.

Other notable matchups on Saturday include Shafic Nasasira from Police facing Lukanga’s Wasswa Ssali, and an East Coast derby between Kassim Mulungi and Trevor Mudenya.

The event promises a full day of action with twenty bouts across Junior and Youth categories, complemented by performances from popular artists and comedians, ensuring an entertaining spectacle for attendees.
