Gun marked with Uganda Police labels recovered in Bukomansimbi

The residents of Kawoko village in Butenga sub county in Bukomansimbi district have fought with armed robbers, whom they recovered the gun from containing several bullets.

The fight broke out at the house of Mutyaba Bonny near one of the petrol stations in the area. The robbers dug a whole which they used to access his house.

Mutyaba fought with the gunman, and made him drop the riffle inside the house and they fought to the outside as Mutyaba screamed loud and people came to his rescue, then the robbers jumped to their bike and setoff.

Mutyaba Bonny said the narrowness of the living room saved him from being shot because the gunman lost his base, but he hit the gun and it fell and they managed to get outside, through a hole the thieves had dug in the house.

Butenga Police heard the screams and Bukomansimbi Police, and they arrived at the crime scene, took the gun, which was marked with Uganda Police labels.

Bukomansimbi Deputy RDC Salongo Kalema Fred Pax, confirmed that the gun thrown by the thieves is indeed a Uganda Police’s, but it is not from Bukomansimbi and they are still investigating where it came from.
