In a bid to solidify their position at the helm of the National Basketball League, KCCA is geared up to face UPDF Lady Tomahawks at the YMCA court in Wandegeya this Wednesday.

The KCCA Leopards, boasting an unblemished record of six wins this season, are poised to maintain their winning streak against UPDF.

The Leopards, with their revamped lineup, have emerged as serious contenders to unseat the reigning champions, JKL Lady Dolphins, who are also undefeated this season, securing four wins in as many games.

However, the anticipated showdown between KCCA and JKL is slated for March 15, with KCCA facing UPDF and YMCA before the big one.

KCCA’s impressive performance this season can be attributed to the caliber of their roster, bolstered by recent signings.

Margaret Baagala and Perus Nyamwenge, acquisitions from Kampala University and KIU Rangers respectively, have been standout performers, averaging an impressive 18.8 points each.

Despite suffering a wrist injury against UCU, Moreen Amoding, who joined from JT Lady Jaguars, showcased her prowess early in the season.

Additionally, guard Uwineza Ninette, a recent addition from KIU Rangers, seamlessly integrated into the team, contributing to their success.

Experienced and seasoned Martha Soigi has been a rock in the Front Court, supported by fellow netballers Faridah Kadondi and Asinah Kabendela, the latter is leading the team in most rebounds picked.

Coach Rogers Sserunyigo’s squad also has captain Susan Rebecca Aanyu, Sylvia Nakazibwe, Leanne Nalunkuma, Ruth Atuheire, and Sherinah Mwenyango.

Their dominant displays this season include commanding victories over Kampala University (99-20), Nabisunsa (110-43), KIU Rangers (60-44), JT Lady Jaguars (65-53), UCU Lady Canons (74-53), and A1 Challenge (75-33).

On the flip side, UPDF Lady Tomahawks, newcomers to the league, have had a mixed season, winning three out of their seven games and succumbing to defeat in the remaining four.

They enter the matchup on the back of a three-game losing streak against Miracle Ravens, KIU Rangers, and JT Lady Jaguars, and facing the formidable KCCA Leopards poses a significant challenge for them.
