Mityana traditional doctor who killed two siblings in ritual sacrifice found hiding in Kampala

Operatives from the Crime Intelligence Directorate of the Uganda Police have tracked and arrested a traditional doctor and another person over the murder of two siblings in Mityana in suspected ritual sacrifice.

According to the Wamala region police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala, the murder happened on Wednesday at around 10pm when the two children, Sylvia Nantongo, 5 and Esther Nakasumba went missing before their torso were later discovered in Kirinda village, Kasega parish, Kapeke sub-county, leading investigators to the home of witch doctor Sulaiman Sentongo.

On reaching the home of the traditional doctor, he was nowhere to be seen, prompting the police to begin the hunt.

“Operatives tracked Sulaiman Sentongo, 32 a witch doctor, via phone and apprehended him in Kireka, Kampala, on the night of April 5, 2024, along with his associate Namuleme Maureen, who allegedly provided him with transport to flee the scene on April, 4, 2024,” Kawala said.

She said Namuleme is a resident of Kisingiri cell, Namirembe Bakuli ward, Rubaga division in  Kampala.

“The suspects are currently detained at Kiboga CPS for interrogation, bringing the total number of arrests to three.”
