Patrick Okidi | Obongi, (UG): The Commissioner of the National Secretariat for Patriotism Clubs in Uganda has appointed Ms. Tizza Winnifred Katumba as the first district Patriotism Coordinator for Obongi district.
In a letter dated February 16, 2024, a copy of which was obtained by The Ankole Times newspaper, the Commissioner confirmed the designation of Madam Tizza Winnifred Katumba as the inaugural district Patriotism Coordinator for Obongi.
Tizza is currently a secondary school teacher at Itula Secondary School in Palorinya sub-county.
According to the appointment letter, Ms. Tizza Winnifred Katumba is tasked with mobilizing all schools to carry out patriotism activities, monitoring patriotism activities in schools, providing termly reports on club performance to the Secretariat, maintaining cumulative records of alumni, and identifying training needs in schools to be forwarded to the National Secretariat for Patriotism Clubs.

During the monthly security meeting held at the district headquarters on Friday, RDC Obongi Samuel Mpimbaza Hashaka introduced Ms. Tizza Winnifred Katumba to the Obongi district security committee.
Ms. Tizza expressed her excitement about the new appointment and affirmed her readiness to commence her new mandate in Obongi district as a patriot and nationalist.
Commissioner Hasaka has recently encouraged the youth in Obongi district to embrace patriotism, emphasizing the importance of becoming responsible citizens in the future.
