At least nine people have been confirmed dead from a road accident which occurred on Tuesday evening in Rakai district.
Rakai District Traffic Police Officer, Fudiyeeri Bigirimana has confirmed the accident saying it has involved a moving vehicle, a Canter registration number UAT 559X.
Bigirimana says the nine people who died instantly together with over 25 causalities who have been rushed to the nearby health units are mourners who have been coming from a burial.
The accident victims together with the deceased are said to have been residents of Kyalulangira village who were from attending a burial at Dyango village. The accident is reported to have happened at Rakai-Isingiro road.
