Oyirwoth Daglas Ends Four-Year Tenure at UPDF FC

Left-back Oyirwoth Daglas’ four-year journey at UPDF FC will conclude this June, marking the end of a significant chapter for the player and the club.

Daglas joined UPDF FC from Mbarara City, initially signing a three-year deal that expired last season.

He then extended his contract for an additional year.

However, the 2023/2024 season proved to be challenging for the West Nile Province fullback due to a knee injury sustained during a pre-season friendly against Express at Wankulukuku.

This injury sidelined him for the entire first round of the season.

Daglas made his first appearance of the season in a 4-2 defeat to Maroons at the Luzira Prisons Ground.

Throughout the season, he managed only seven appearances, playing a crucial role in UPDF FC’s fight to stay in the Uganda Premier League.

One of Daglas’ most memorable moments at UPDF FC was his spectacular volley that secured a last-gasp equalizer in a 1-1 draw with KCCA under the floodlights in Lugogo during the 2022/2023 campaign.

His tenure at UPDF FC includes a total of 51 games, contributing significantly to the team’s efforts.

Daglas, who has previously played for clubs such as Synergy and Mbarara City, now joins the list of departures from UPDF FC, following Vuni Bright Joseph, who is bound for Vipers, and Faridi Rashid Achumu.

UPDF FC concluded the season in 13th place with 27 points, narrowly avoiding relegation.
